Hello all, On August 15th I will be flying Northwest Airlines to Flint to fly one one of Northwests DC-9's before they retire them. I am also taking this trip to see how DTW is.

I am currently still planning it for August 15th but I might move it. Here is the current plan:

August 15th, 2004:

Leave:

MCO-FNT
Northwest Airlines
11:25 AM-2:25 PM
McDonnell Douglas DC-9

Return:

MCO-DTW
Northwest Airlines
7:04 PM-7:54 PM
McDonnell Douglas DC-9

DTW-MCO
Northwest Airlines
9:10 PM-11:40 PM
Boeing 757

My question is since I have nearly 5 hours for a layover what the heck should I do??? I wouldnt have this problem if I was at a major hub but FNT is small. I am 19 so I cant rent a car. Is their any FNT members that could provide me some suggestions? Or if their is any MCO/TPA/FLL/PBI members that would like to join me on this let me know!

Delta767_300ER@msn.com

Thanks!

Well, you'll pretty much go insane. There are two things to do at Bishop International, Jack and shit, and Jack left town. So you see what you're left with.

Nice Trip Report!!! Great Pics, thanks for posting!!!! B747Forever

After looking at your plans, why are you even going to FNT?!

Also, how are you getting from FNT to DTW?

Just go MCO-DTW-MCO.

Airtran737, You said it!

Flying Bronco, Sorry about that I messed up the schedule. Here is the correct schedule (Same day travel)

Leave:

MCO-FNT
Northwest Airlines
11:25 AM-2:25 PM
McDonnell Douglas DC-9

Return:

FNT-DTW
Northwest Airlines
7:04 PM-7:54 PM
McDonnell Douglas DC-9

DTW-MCO
Northwest Airlines
9:10 PM-11:40 PM

This was the only route I could find w/ a DC-9 on NWA for a good price.

ElectraBob, Thanks for the flight list. Thats not much at all.

You're about 60 miles from anything really interesting; Willow run airport in Ypsilanti is a lot of fun, with a fair number of freighters of all sizes. Lansing is about the same distance, I think--there's a regional airport there and it might be possible that Skywest or Mesaba has a puddle-jumper that'll get you back and forth--check the Delta and NW sites. Otherwise, I've heard the Chrysler Museum is cool, but I don't know if they're open on Sundays.

Either way, have fun!

Try taking an earlier flight to DTW, there is much more to see there. You may catch the 747-400's and A330's before they all leave. Like the garage in MCO, DTW has a garage that has good views on the airfield. I visit MCO often. Will be there on 7/27.
There isn't much in FNT. I fly into FNT all the time, I am a FA.
By the way thanks for your business on the Redtail. Also the DC9's will be around for a little while longer, so don't be in a big rush.
