I would fly on any a/c that I haven't been on yet, only if it is operated by a "safe" airline.

I'd love to get back on an MD-11. I had just gotten old enough to appreciate its magesty when SR took it off the JFK-GVA route and I miss it so much!
Others include 777 (200 and 300), CRJ-700/900, EMB-190, 737-900, IL-96, A380, 747 (upper deck!), and ATR-72 (been so long, I'd love to go back to JTR with OA!)

High on my wish list are the DC-8, DC-6, 7 and C-46, all should be possible.
Caravelle.... is just a dream one will ever be refurbished to fly.
Quoting PlymSpotter (Reply 4): all remain possible (....) B727-100
BAC1-11
F227
Hi Dan,
The 727-100 will be hard. The only way I can think of is the Ecuadorian Air Force 727-100. I visited it in May in Quito and it looks great, in full pax configuration. But it is not dispatched on commercial flights, but I think there are some essential services the Air Force flies with it on which tickets will be sold.
The 1-11; it doesn't fly with SCAT anymore but now I read Tombouctou Aviation in Mali has two 400s and will fly scheduled services with them! Let's pack for Mali
The FH-227 is really impossible. I have tried in Argentina, Mexico and Honduras to fly on it, but now it's just not flying anymore. HR-ASK in Honduras was the last one flying in 2004. The only airworthy FH-227 now is with the Burmese Air Force. The Fairchild F-27 should be possible though, there should be one flying in Honduras. I tried to get on the Fairchild built F-27s in Ecuador and Bolivia but they hardly fly.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

That's interesting, I didn't actually know about that one, I should be going to Equador in summer 2009, so I'll definately get on it then, if it's still flying! I was actually thinking about a skydiving company in the US, they operate a 727-100 for mass jumps - when you need a few more seats onboard than a couple of DHC6's can give you.

Hadn't heard about that either - I was thinking about Daalo airlines who 'modernised' their fleet and replaced the Il-18 with a 1-11! Mali sounds good though, a bit safer no doubt than Somalia at the moment.

Darn, that's a shame, I'd heard it was still operating in Central America - but I guess not anymore Still, can't have them all I suppose.

Do you know which airline or registration? I only know Perris Valley who have a DC-9 for skydiving.
