Hi,

I'm travelling Club World - LHR to ACC on 26th Sep 2008. Now I know that the CW cabin on the 763 is the brown/blue original New Club World seat. My question is - what is the meal and snack service like? Have BA upgraded services on their 763 routes as part of their general CW upgrade? Or does the catering remain the same? Do they just have a snack basket or have they introduced more of the snack from the Club Kitchen for New New Club World. If you see what I mean.

Any info would be gratefullay appreciated. Just so I know what to expect. I don't get to fly often and certainly not Business class!!!

Many thanks,
Phil

All BA 767's have the old club world - not the new product. The only a/c that have the new club world are the 747's and select 777's. Most 777's will be refitted by the end of the year into next year... NOt sure if hte 767's are every going to be fitted as they are due to be replaced with the 787 eventually.

I don't know much about the original Club World and the details you asked of so maybe someone else can answer but just so u know to expect the original CW not the new.

The 767's have what is confusingly known as New Club World (not to be confused with Next Generation Club World which is found across the 747 fleet.) This is the lie flat 6ft bed that is still in place on most of the 777s at the moment. They do have AVOD though and this is meant to work better on the 767's than it does on the 747's. I think it's still just the snack basket as far as catering on there goes though.

Incorrect.

NCW (New Club World) refers to the "NEW" product. Club World refers to the OLDER product. Please see excerpt from the BA site. You're correct about what is offered and what fleet it's on, you just have the name confused. "New" is in the title for a reason - why would the old product be called New?

www.ba.com:

"New Club World is currently rolling out across the fleet. We aim to have the new cabin available on all our Boeing 747 and 777 aircraft by early 2009 (in accordance with the current roll out schedule). In the meantime the rest of the fleet will continue to offer the original, award-winning Club World service."

Actually, he isn't totally incorrect. Among many of the BA regulars who have flown in CW for some time, the lie flat beds were known as "New Club World" (NCW) - as opposed to the cradle seats which were the true "Old Club World" - and the latest version as "New New Club World"/"Next Generation New Club World" which was abbreviated to NNCW. Although it is true that BA market the current version of CW on the 747s and rolling out across 777s as New Club World and that's how it's widely known, some people do use the acronyms NCW and NNCW to mean the "older" and "new" versions.

They won't be refitted, having only recently been dusked and containing a perfectly respectable CW product.

As regards snack basket or "Club Kitchen" it will be exactly the same stuff as on other long haul routes apart from the hot options (ie soup and meals) because there is no microwave on the 767. In fact the microwave is only fitted on aircraft with the very latest club world seats.
Sandwiches and salads and fruit salads will be kept in the trolley carts so they will be chilled but after the main meal service there will be a basket on the galley top with crisps, chocolate, biscuits, cakes and smoothie...
If I was working the flight I'd say hello but I'm not! Any other info I'll do my best to tell let you know.
Enjoy the flight.
