3 Hours In A BT Fokker 50: Desireable?

Beginning in mid-December 2008 BT is to add HAJ as destination from RIX (1 flight daily except Wed and Sat).

Depart RIX 1130h - arrive HAJ 1325h (2h55min)
Depart HAJ 1350h - arrive RIX 1725h (2h25min)

My main worry is the fact that this 3-hour (649 mi) nonstop-flight is being carried out by a Fokker 50.

--> Is this desirable from a pax point of view ?
I only am accustomed to 70-minute-flights in KLc's F50 between HAJ and AMS (and a few shorter hops on VG), but imagining to endure 3 hours in those seats (I am putting the *noise* issue aside) I am not sure if I want to endure this. Other opinions / experiences ?

Remember, with BT it is "Buy on board" for food, so there is no component to keep you busy for a longer period ...

They have some very long flights on the F50, don't they! The HAJ route won't be the longest in fact; they also serve ODS from RIX in the little Fokker, that's 780 miles and when I was at SIP one of their F50s came in - that route is 927 miles!

Ouch !
However, in summer 2009 flights to SIP are listed as being operated by B735, whereas BT500/501 to ODS are operated be F50 (3h20min for the return to RIX).

Fortunately the only flights between RIX and ODS I could make (due to the timings of my HAJ-flights) are operated by B737 ...

I only flew BT's F50s on the short RIX-TLL-RIX hops, but i remember the seats as being rather comfortable for a turboprop. I would probably give the HAJ-RIX sector a try. Also, their BOB offerings aren't bad, and quite reasonably priced. You should absolutely try their Croissant sandwich. It's delicious!

Perhaps it was a sub this year for a tech 737 that I saw then?

I would go with BT (3 hours is not really that long) !

In a Fokker 50, it's a very long time  Wink

If you think you can endure it, do it. If not, be boring and take a B737  Wink

The point is: There is only a single nonstop F50-flight between HAJ and RIX by BT.

I spent an hour on a BT F50 flying the RIX-HEL route and it was just fine. Admittedly there were only 10 of us on the flight and the seat next to me (along with most of the other seats) were empty! Sit me on a fully-loaded one for 3 hours and I might have to reconsider which flight I took. I did once fly a fully-loaded Flugfelag Islands F50 from RKV to AEY, and it was pretty uncomfortable. Thankfully it was a fairly short flight.
