Hi!

I am planning to book a ticket with Air Asia from Hanoi to Bangkok.
Does this airline has a good record? Are they punctual?
Will appreciate any feed back.

Regards,

Hi there

Air Asia are an excellent LCC airline. They are usually very punctual. I haven't flown them in Thailand, but I have in Malaysia (JHB-BKI x2) and Indonesia (CGK-DPS), and those two experiences were similar. Everything is BOB and there are no seat assignments (unless you pay extra and get express boarding to board first, but hardly worth it if you get to the gate early).

Good luck on your trip and enjoy SE Asia  Smile

Cheers

At the beginning of this year I flew from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Kuala Lumpur on Air Asia. Everything was perfect including the brand new A320.

People get a little jumpy about getting onto the airplane as there is no assigned seating, so they start to line-up early for the cattle call. You can avoid this by spending $10 or so to board early. I did this and it's great. You don't necessarily get a better seat, but you can relax at the gate until they announce that the flight is boarding, and then you go to the front of the line.

I have heard that Air Asia is usually great, but I have also heard horror stories about what happens when something goes wrong--like a mechanical problem or weather. Some of their city pairs have only one or two flights per day, so it you get stuck, it could take days to get to where you are going. They have no agreements with other airlines, so you're on your own. Have contingency plans in mind.

I would definitely use them again. Good Luck.

I flew on AK from PNH to KUL and it was FINE. If you've been on RyanAir, expect very much of the same. Absolute chaos at the gate because of no seating assignments, everybody wants a good seat so are pushing and shoving everyone else. That's the only bad thing about AK - once you get on the plane, the seats are very comfortable and you buy what you want - you get nothing free.

One thing I noticed in PNH is they hand wrote all of the boarding passes. Not sure if the system was down that day or what but everything was manual - kinda funky.

I would highly recommend AK - it gets you point A-B without any major issues and the airline AFAIK is very reliable and safe.

Very punctual, like an Asian version of WN. Very friendly staff, too  Smile

The crew understood English well enough to direct my wife and I to the second emergency exit row when I asked which seats had the best legroom...

We enjoyed our flights from PEN-KUL and back very much, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Hi

I flew a couple of legs recently on air asia. I flew KUL-BKK and BKK-Surat Thani. in BKK, the planes are at a remote stand so you have to catch a bus. The funny thing is, everyone wants to be first on the bus....

however, we were the last on, so we were the first on the plane... No need to pay extra for your own seat.
