CDG Flight To Train Transfer 90 Minutes Realistic?

I plan to arrive at CDG on a Monday morning at 7:55 (CO56 from EWR). I'd like to catch a TGV to Lyon which departs CDG at 9:25.

Is this a realistic transfer time, knowing I will not check in any bags?

Thank you---

I've flown thousands of miles and I can tell you it's a lot safer than crossing the street!

No problems. I've done it in 50 minutes with checked-in bags.
In the case you still miss your train the SNCF is very accomodating when it comes to rebooking.

Should not be a problem as long as you do not get caught-up in walking in circles in those crazy terminals.

It should be no problem at all. Connecting at CDG can be a pain, but exiting is usually pretty quick.

Just out of curiosity, why not take DL's direct flight to Lyons?

No problem if your CO flight arrives on time. I've done this several times and I should say that if you harry up a little 30-35 minutes should be enough. And even if you miss this train you have a lot of possibilities during the day. So, relax and have a nice flight.

Thank you so much for the quick and helpful replies.

I'm not taking DL to Lyon because my final destination is Aix en Provence where my parents live. And where I live here is convenient to Newark - definitely not to JFK.

Merci, and I'll post a trip report if anything is noteworthy. It will be my first time on a CO 777, and my first time on a widebody since 2005.

Actually, it very much depends on which terminal you arrive at. Anywhere in T2, you should be safe, no problem. Can you walk with your luggage or are you loaded and need to ride the bus?

I find the walk from pretty much every concourse to the train station very pleasant, and it is a nice way to stretch one's legs after a long flight.

The station is located between concourses C and D on the one side, and E and F on the other.

Now if you arrive at T1, that's another story...

I agree that T1 would be a problem, but since CO uses T2A, no problems.

It'll be a bit of a walk to the station, but you should have plenty of time.

CDG1 is 8mn away from the TGV station using the CDG Val automated shuttle that runs every 4-5mn during daytime (from 4:30 AM). Not much more time needed than for the walk from 2A..

Duh. Merci pour le rappel à la réalité.  Smile

Of course, I had forgotten CDG Val which actually does a fine job of ferrying people around. The end result is a fair bit different from the original design but I actually like it better this way.

Thanks again for the reality poke. I'm getting rusty...  Wink
