Dear friends,
Next year I am intending to go to the Airliners International Convention in Miami, fro 23 to 25 July, and then fly to Chicago, to go to Oskosh, anyone knows knows the cheaper way to go from Orlando to Chicago?

More seriously, unless you have some pressing need to actually be in Chicago, I'd check in to G4 from SFB to either RFD or MSN.

Work at American, or start f***ing someone who does.
Yes, I know it's a shameless rip. Long Live Sam Kineson.
Seriously though, perhaps you can check certain airlines LFs, and get yourself a standby ride. If your serious about saving $$, that might not be a bad idea.

Why don't you make a freind and bum a ride (or perhaps share expenses).
Bus is probably quicker than Amtrak, only because Amtrak goes either up the east cost to DC or NY and then to Chicago; or over to New Orlenes and then up to Chicago.
I used to ride Amtrak a lot going east and west through Chicago. I miss the old pulman cars.

AirTran runs these one or two day only sales if you are on their Email list.
Last week it was FNT to certain Florida cities for $69 bucks plus tax OW.
Sometimes, DL will match them. July sales should pop up in April or early May.

Don't overlook MKE as a possibility. It's about 1.5 hours closer to Oshkosh, and typically offers competitive fares. FL has been expanding (and contracting) here, and with the advance planning time that you have you should be able to find a decent fare. If you're committed to Chicago, you could try Southwest into MDW.
By the way, MKE is not a bad place to visit either. While I realize that I have a hometown bias, take a look at what the LA Times and NY Times had to say recently:

I would also recommend looking in to MCO-MKE especially is Oshkosh is your final destination-FL has made this route competitive. Also, Allegiant (G4) currently does not serve MSN, but does serve ATW from SFB-another option to look into. (Right now, prices and schedule do not look that great, but I don't know what they will be like in July)
