My brother and family have will be flying back from ANC to EWR via award tickets there are no saver coach seats but saver first class seats (booked thru CO). The options are DL 757-200 thru SLC (905am-1059pm) or a DL 767-300 to ATL and a 757-200 to EWR (750pm-1037am +1)
which is better? BTW from the seatmap, it is a domestic 767-300

Does the 757 have PTVs (it would have 7 rows of F)? If no, 767 in a landslide.

Yea, I have to agree. For long flights the PTV's are great and more often a winner over the other. The 767 cabins are alot more roomy and spacious because of the double aisles, the 757's can go either way, cozy or cramped. Just depends on how full or not it is and how you feel about it yourself. I've had plenty of flights full F on 75's and felt both ways.
Personally though, I'd take a 767 ride over a 757 ride because there is something just fascinating about the 767. The hulking massive round frame rushing through the air, climbing, cruising and descending.
Yeah, somethings definitely wrong with me lol. Good Luck, hope you enjoy your trip whatever the outcome.

The 757 any day! The cabin actually feels less cramped, and the seats seem to feel wider.

Besides, DL usually boards the 757s from Door 2, so you get to turn left and don't have passenger after coach passenger bumping into you as they get to their seats with carry ons and babies and food and junk  Wink. The 767s typically board from Door 1, everyone trudges past you.

Keep in mind that the domestic F seats on the 757s are 20.75" wide, while those on the domestic 763s are 18.5" wide. Still, if the 757 you are considering does not have PTVs, I would still take the 763. The way to tell the 757s apart is if there are 7 rows of F seats, then there are PTVs, but if there are only six rows, then there are no PTVs.

Good point.

To me, it would be up to the PTV's. All domestic 763's Delta has are now equipped with PTV's but not all of the 757s are. And I know that the 757's to and from ANC don't have PTV's 90% of the time.

The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud...

I'll go for the 767, because of space (considering that sometimes we got BE 767's)

Good point. But in general coast to coast flights are 757 with PTVs

New York + Rio de Janeiro = One of the best combinations !
