Hey guys,
I need some ideas.. I am looking for an airline to accommodate 50 people from LAX-JFK (or adjacent areas) and so far the price im getting from UA, AA, VX, and B6 are not very good. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking at around not more than $500 per person.
(it will be april travel)
Thanks,
-jasp

Quoting Rjnut (Reply 2): Try my friends at AIRCHARTERTEAM.COM and get your own aircraft
50 people at $500 per person is only $25,000. Way to low for a charter plus a reposition.
Call the "Group Desk" and see if the airline will give you a discount. Try AA. UA probably wont cuz they have such limited seats on the PS. Also try EWR.

Exactly. That is your best bet. I wonder, can you book 25 seats on a site like orbitz ?

thanks guys...
unbelievably, UA has the most expensive offer.. at $900+ per pax
AA, VX, etc -- arount $600+
CO is the least expensive at under 500.. still wating for one more offer from another airline.. it's interesting how expensive UA is.

As an owner of a travel agency the best bet would be to call group reservations for the different carriers.
I currently have a group of 30 going to London.

Quoting IAirAllie (Reply 10): Swa operates out of Ipswitch Long Island. Looks like it would be about $300-400 round trip for that
For 50 passengers?? or were you looking on the website?

I'd definitely go with Continental.
But then, as an elite with them, I'm biased.
UA probably has the best product... oh wait, they downgraded their PS service, nevermind.
If you can get on a 757-324, it's a very nice ride, with complimentary food and IFE.
And, coupled with them being the cheapest so far, I'd definitely go with them.

Whatever you do, make sure the flight is a nonstop. Moving 50 people through a hub could be a nightmare. Also, less chance of lost luggage on a nonstop. CO often flies 737s on their transcon routes. I would prefer a larger plane for a cross country flight.

Ooops I slipped up. Thats what I meant my keyboard typed something else.
Quoting PlateMan (Reply 13): And then you could charter a 50-seat bus on Long Island to get you into NYC. Right down the LIE
They will need transportation for a group that size regardless.

Must be the bias. CO truly has the worst seats in coach and I've put in the research time. Rock solid nasty things. Not that any coach seat is the paragon of luxury but I think CO makes theirs out of cement.
