Hello everybody,
looks like I have to fly on DL soon between ATL and LAX and it says it will be a B763 on that flight. And it looks like we will fly first class.
My question now, what can I expect, what kind of service? What will be for free, for what do I have to pay? Will I be able to watch a movie? Can I use my Bose Noise reduction headseat? Will there be a electric available for my laptop?

Food: You will get a full cooked meal, with actual silverware. I believe you get free alcohol also.
Bags: You shouldn't have to pay for bags
Movies: There is AVOD in the First class cabin
Power: The seat has a 110V AC power plug-in
NCHS: I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use it.
Right now there is an AA MD-80 flying over my house.

Food: Choice of two meals, one's a pasta dish, the other is a meat dish (normally some sort of chicken or beef short ribs).
Bags: You will be allowed 3 checked bags at 70 lbs each. Of course, you can bring a 22" rollaboard and a personal item on board.
Movies: There is AVOD on the entire plane. You'll have access to it all - the movies, games, HBO stuff, TV, free of charge.
Power: Mentioned above; sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Bose headsets: More often than not 75% of the F cabin is wearing them.
Typical ATL-West Coast flight goes something like this:
On the ground, you'll get a beverage. Full bar is available on the ground. Sometimes your meal order is taken (if not, it's in the air). Beverage is in plastic cups...
About 20 minutes after takeoff, you'll get a beverage service, served in a glass. Hot towels will then be passed out. Then, you'll get an option of something from the snack basket (biscoffs, granola bars, sunchips, peanuts). Then you'll get your meal on a tray - it will have a dinner roll, a salad, the entree (either the pasta, or the meat with a veggie and starch), and a dessert (normally a piece of chocolate cake or cheesecake).
After the meal, the F/As will come around with the snack basket and drinks pretty regularly.
With DL First Class, the only thing you could conceivably pay for is something off the EATS menu - everything else that you would have to pay for in Y you get for free in F (unless you go over the 3 bags @ 70 lbs each limit).

That sounds like great service!
One question: Does DL still have the double-pronged headseat jack in first? I wonder if that could affect the Bose headset, if it only has one plug-in connection. (I think I read somewhere that having only one plug-in won't let you get all the sound).

90% sure it's the single-prong in F now. I haven't been on a 767-300 since October, so it's been a while; however, the 767-400 in BusinessElite and the 757-200 AVOD all have single-prongs.
Thanks for the detailed reply guys. Sounds good. I think I will enjoy that flight.

Bose delivers the single and the both plug- in connection. So that wouldn't stop me from using them

On the 763Ds with the new sets (at least in Y) they have the one prong. (same for the 737s)
IIRC the only A/c that still have them are the 767/757 type. Not sure about the 777.
Doesn't matter thought in F you get free headsets and the two prong jack comes off so all you have to do is pull it off the DL headsets and put them on yours.

I think I have heard that the 772ERs and international 764ERs still have the double-prong jacks in Y despite having AVOD. Not sure about the ex-TWA ETOPS 757s or 772LRs, though.

No, the 777s I have flown between DXB-ATL, all had the single-prong jacks in Y.

Hi guys,
thanks again for all the replies, but it looks like I won't do that trip. Now I will fly from ORD to LAX, but don't know which airline yet. But pretty sure not DL

Quoting Super80DFW (Reply 11): The version of 757 they fly on a certain route can change from day to day. If you know the day and flight number, we can find out.
6th January, DL2083. It was originally planned as a 763 (well, the website said), now it is 752.
