On what routes have you flown EK? And what did you think of it?
I have only flown 2 sectors on it: MAA-DXB and DXB-LHR. The former was by the 772 and the latter by the 332. It was 4 or 5 years ago and I can’t actually remember much about them! What I do know was that I booked Madurai-Chennai-Dubai-London 12 hours before departure and it cost, including everything, £250.

Flown EK on LHR-DXB and back 4 times i believe on 772ER and the 332. DXB-NBO-DAR twice on the 332 and DXB-DAR twice on the 332 and 343. Excellent service i had i always fly with them when i have the chance.
I was supposed to fly on EK JFK-DXB on 345 didnt book it on time so I had to take a different flight. Still havent flown on the 345.

In 2002 IST-DXB-MLE-DXB-IST in C class and all on Airbus 330-200. Old style seats and IFE. We had the option to chose movies from a list and they gave us tapes. At that time, it seemed normal nut now it sounds funny
In 2004 IST-DXB-IST also 330-200
In 2007 BKK-HKG on B 777-300ER. Fantastic airplane and the ICE worked perfectly. I had all 3 seats to myself. I didn't want that flight to finish...

GLA-DXB-ICN, got upgraded onto C on the DXB-ICN and thought their C product on A340 awful and below Y product on the B777W.
DXB is a hell-hole...
Also flights from Europe to Asia take 4 -6 hours longer via DXB so that s why I only did once and usually fly to Europe and transit there...

I have flown MUC-DXB-BKK return, on A332 and B773ER a couple of years ago, it was kind of mixed experience.
On all legs I got the best meals I have ever had in Y, mostly pre-booked sea food. Great stuff.
And the ICE on B773 was the best IFE I have experienced, on A332 very outdated.
But the cabins on both a/c were cramped, very little shoulder room, I was happy the flights didn't last more than around 6h each. And a minor thing: the cabin colours not to my taste, kind of pinkish. The service was fine, nothing special though. And DXB was a crowded mess.

I have flown MAN-DXB on a A332, connecting onto DXB-SIN-BNE on a 773A, and the same on the return journey. I have to say I thought they where great flights. It was the first time I had flown long haul on a full service carrier and was probably a bit too excited by the free alcohol and great IFE(it wasn't even the latest ICE). I have since flown on VS to Australia, and I think that next time I will go with EK again as they now have 77W's all the way from MAN-BNE. I will also take the flight with a stop in SIN as I thought the 12-14 hour flights I had last time was too long. I much prefer the three 7 hour (ish) flights of the EK schedule. I would recomend them to anyone as I only have good memorys of the flights.
Overall their service was a bit iffy. On some flights, DXB-JFK inparticular, the FA serving us was wonderful and the flight was just generallly lovely, whereas others, like DXB-CAI-DXB were utterly forgetful. I imagine with their current rapid expansion, service standards would of slipped across the board.

The two economy flights was on a 777-300ER and 777-300 respectively. I am raiting EK to have one of the best Y products available - food, IFE and service inlcuded. It is only the seating arrangement that is a bit narrow.
I would not even consider flying EK C--class again before I know that all A/C have been fitted with new generation seats. I have flown on A330-200 and 777-300ER. You can not compare there Recliner seats to even Turkish, Swiss or the much better BA, SAA, VS to Europe. Service was quite good.

Back in 1997:
DXB-BKK-HKG B772 (brand new by then; first flight in a T7)
HKG-DXB A313 nonstop (pretty much worn interior), followed by a scheduled night in a hotel on EK's expense
Those were the days where EK was not able to to fill a A306 out of FRA and had a stop in ATH (also for fuel) in the run.
Back then they had a lot of caib staff from all over the world, speaking like a dozen languages.
Two other things remained in my mind:
Good personal IFE (by 1997 standards); bad seat pitch on the B772 with a 10-abreast seating.
Carpe diem ! Life is too short to waste your time ! Keep in mind, that today is the first day of the rest of your life !

DXB-JED more times than I would like to count
DXB-DMM more times than I would like to count
DXB-LHR several times
Been on 772/772ER/773/77W and 332. Haven't managed the 343/345/388 yet.
I intend to add DXB-JFK and LAX-DXB this year on a mileage redemption.
I think that's about it. I don't really like Emirates very much and try to avoid flying them when I can. I think they're pretty good in Y, but I don't fancy them much in J. I haven't been with them in F, but obviously the suites look awesome.

Decent inflight service, nothing special but nothing to complain about either, clean and well
maintained planes. The ICE inflight entertainment system however is superb, unrivalled
against any other airline i've flown. I do prefer QR though, much cheaper fares and
outstanding customer service.

I have flown two routes with EK both back in January 2006.
BKK-DXB was a terrible experience to be honest. First off I asked for an aisle seat which the check-in agent confirmed except when I boarded the aircraft it was not an aisle seat! When I got in my seat the cabin had not been cleaned! - Thats was a first for me. The seatback in front had an old newspaper,used tissues and wrappers still in it from the previous flight. The cabin crew were rude and uninterested in providing a good service and the food left a lot to be desired..
DXB-LHR- Was a totally different experience. Good food,great IFE and friendly F/A's. Overall a good flight.
