Hi everyone...
At the end of May, I will visit London for a long weekend. Flights and hotels booked already. My schedule is as follows:
IST-LHR May 22 TK 1979 08:00 - 10:05 AM
LHR-IST May 25 TK 1980 11:25 AM - 17:20 PM
This is all perfect but I am looking to regain my Elite status with TK in the next year or two. While looking at random flights, I realized there are a lot of cheap flights to USA ex-London in late May. So I was thinking I could do a mileage run only to make miles towards my new goal
I am thinking of flying to US on May 23 Saturday and returning on May 24 Sunday. Could you help me with finding the best deals on Star Alliance carriers to USA ? Please keep in mind I am looking at gaining the most miles possible.
P.S: I could also look at NRT-ICN-SIN-HKG and so on as long as the price is right.
P.S 2: I am not a big sleeper on planes so IFE is crucial
P.S 3: Price would possible by less than 600-700 USD.
P.S 4: Hotel is free of charge so no problems at changing my itinerary in London. I could also possibly extend my stay in London for another day with a penalty of EUR 40.
I have a couple of things in mind (such as LAX or SFO on UA) but I would like to hear your suggestions too.

United Airlines have a roundtrip fare to LAX from LHR for USD555, and if you want to go via ORD on the way to LAX (for a couple more miles) it cost only a couple dollars more (USD562). If you fly through IAD on the way back it is slightly cheaper.
However, keep in mind, the flight back from LAX leaves midday from Lax, but doesn't arrive in LHR before the early morning on the 25th.
Just check United.com, and you'll find these prices.
By the way, how many miles do you need to regain your elite status?

Thanks for the suggestion. UA was already my strongest candidate...

I need a loooot of miles I first need to become Classic Plus (25000 miles) then become Elite (45,000 miles). I promised myself to be Elite in the next 2 years.... It's a long shot but doable I guess...

I would love to but the dare rules suggest the following :
Eligible for Airpoints Dollars & Status Points accrual; no accrual of frequent flyer miles/points with airline partners
So I can not earn any miles with my TK Miles and Smiles card

Quoting ZBBYLW (Reply 6): How about taking AC through YYZ? Then you can go anywhere from YYZ that AC flies to.
I thought about it but I would need to get a Canadian visa (even for transit). Too much work
