I thought in light of AF changing their livery, it might be fun to get people's opinions of their Skyteam partern DL's new livery now that we've had some time to digest it. It seemed at first that most people strongly objected to it. Lately it seems like it has grown on some people. I thought it was atrocious at first but have seen some appeal in it more recently. However, the new livery on the DL 747 makes the plane look very bland as there literally is not much "there" there. It's mostly a giant white tube with a slight paint job.

I actually relay like DLs new paint job I think its very sleek and trendy which is the image that DL is trying to project. My only reservation about the livery is will it still be trendy in 5 years or are we going to see another livery at that point..
I do agree though the paint on the 747 is proportioned wrong for the aircraft.

Like most on this forum, I did not like the new livery at first. It seemed too bland and the font appeared to be a direct copy of the one used by Delta faucet. However, I have learned to really like it. It is clean and professional looking. The only thing that still drives me crazy is the widget on the tail. I think it should be vertical and not tilted.
No way! That's my favorite part! I don't care much for the fuselage titles, they're too small. I liked Northwest's fuselage titles, they were much bigger and average people could easily tell that it is a Northwest aircraft. But I like the way they only show part of the widget. It just seems stylish to me.

I absolutely love the tail and new-style widget and colors.
I HATE the rest. The titles are the most boring font I've ever seen, they're far too small, the way they did the 'CONNECTION' titles on those a/c -right over the door and even smaller- looks ridiculous.
Too much white on the fuselage and that lame uneven blue swish underneath looks like an afterthought - or like its not finished.
This livery overall was a real letdown and very dull.
I hope they didnt pay the design firm they used too much for this because it certainly didn't take much creativity to come up with it.

For me it's all about the E-jets, when I first heard about yet another livery I thought it would be nice to freshen up the fleet but the first images left me a bit unimpressed. I decided to reserve judgment till after I saw an aircraft in the paint first. This happened in September 2007 with a 757 taxiing by at LAX. I thought it looked better then but I still prefer the wavy gravy livery the best.
It looks OK on an E-jet, just seems a change that didn't need to be.
