I will be flying from Brussels to ORD and back in May, on a business class ticket. There are direct flights with AA, but I am not very satisfied with US airliners and don't mind a stop anyway.
As I can choose my airliner, I had a good look at the BA, LH, AF, KLM,... websites. I attach most importance to a personalized service, quality of food, the business class seat, and the AVOD system. I have no airmiles program preference. The LH product looks a bit dull/industrial. I am not a fan of AF as the Brussels-Paris link is by train. KLM/NWA have the advantage of going over AMS, which I like a lot as airport, but I have no idea of the quality of their service on 747s (KLM and NWA) or A330 (NWA).
So, BA seem to have the best product (lie-flat, AVOD, lounges,...). But they fly the LHR-ORD with 3 different planes: 777, 747, and 767 planes. Which one would you pick? Are the seats the same quality on all planes? Maybe the 767 offers more personalized service as it is a smaller plane? And its slower airspeed compared to the 747 offers a longer sleep eastbound. I'd go for the 747 if I can be sure that I will be on the upper-deck, but how do I know? On the other hand, the 777 is maybe the younger airframe and thus the most comfortable?

Aer Lingus also fly BRU-ORD via DUB on the A330. The J service on the new aircraft is supposed to be good, with lie-flat seats, AVOD etc. You can also pre-clear US immigration in DUB. Might be worth a look.
(I should mention that BRU-DUB is on the A320, all Y config.)

Although it's a slight backtrack, you could also consider LX BRU-ZRH-ORD. LX uses the A340-300 ZRH-ORD which has much better business class seating than their current A330-200s (soon to be replaced with new A330-300s with a completely new business class product.)

BA probably would be your best option. From my personal experience it is much better than LH. Although LH has a good configuration at the front of the 747 (that is if you get a seat up there) the BA beds just beat it. Also, once you are booked you can select your seat, and often the upper deck is fairly free as long as your departure isn't too close. If you do get the 747 it will also be new club world. The service on BA is usually fine and the meals are usually okay. Also T5 is great and the lounges are pretty decent so you should be fine.
