I'm going to MKE from PHX on YX for Airventure. I've never been on YX before, so I was just wondering if Midwest Express Airlines was a good choice.
usually I fly HP, but since I fly standby, I wont get out because the loads are full and the YX flt. leaves earlier.

I'm pretty sure that PHX is a destination served by 'saver service.' Which basically means that really the only benefit you'll get is a friendly flight crew and if you consider leather seats a benefit, that too. You'll have to buy your meal, the seats are leather in a 3-2 config. Otherwise, its just like any other airline.

YX is an awesome airline. On the saver service you get an inflight cafe ( food for purchase). Also as always with all YZ and SYX flights you get fresh baked chocolate chip cookies that are baked onboard.

Well, they used to be great prior to 9/11. I fly them about twice yearly from MCO to MKE. Ticket prices were not much more than anyone else, but you'd get the 2-2 seating, leather (or simulated leather) seats with lots of width cause of the 2-2, real hot meals served on real dishes with metal silverware and salt and pepper shakers, etc. And of course, the fresh baked cc cookies.
Now, all that is gone on the SS flights - of which all to Florida are considered.
My last flight was over the 4th of July week and I don't know this for fact, but I would guess the cookies are now just warmed up in a microwave rather than actually cooked. The smell was not as strong as I remember. Not that it would be a reason to choose them over anyone else.

I never have had the chance to fly them as there schedule from CLE is not conducive for me to try them. In looking at there schedule unless your in MKE or a major city that gets mainline the schedule offered leaves a lot to be desired.

Yes YX is great! I've only flown them twice but I've been on both their signature service and their saver service. I took the 717 out to EWR last year and loved it. The flight was ontime and the cookies where great and i felt as if i were at home sitting in the leather seats. About 2 weeks ago i flew midwest to DEN and the saver service was okay but nothing special. It was pretty much like any other flight. We didnt get any cookies all we got was a tiny bag of trailmix. Enjoy your trip to Wisconsin!
