A while back there was a discussion here about Brazil being added to the US's list of visa waiver program countries. I believe they now have machine-readable passports, which was one of the requirements. Anyone have any updates on this? Thanks in advance.

The discussion was here: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo...s/aviation_polls/read.main/167851/

As pointed out by LAXintl, there are a lot more requirements than that. Although they may qualify with their refusal rates and machine-readable passports, they need to qualify on a security and intelligence level as well.
