I guess the cat's out of the bag: "do all Aer Lingus A333 have PTV in coach"? Has anyone flown them recently? reviews/thoughts? Thinking of crossing the pond IAD-CDG.

At the moment, only 1 out of 5 A330-300's are fitted with PTV's (EI--DUZ). By summer however, almost all cabins will have them. 2 new A330's are arriving this year, the first in 2 weeks time or so, and most of the others are being upgraded. The new cabins are very nice, you should like them!

The DUB/IAD route is mainly operated by the A332's, could change though.

I was on EI-DUZ last summer and the new PTVs are great, makes the time go alot faster but of course I was watching the Flightmap for most of it Big grin

More than likely, if you travel EI across the pond after March, as EI320 said, you will get the AVOD no matter what aircraft you get.

Aer Lingus are currently installing new cabins and entertainment systems on their A330s, it should all be completed by the summer. Aer Lingus are also about to take delivery of a new A333, EI-EAV which will be accompanied by another new A333 in June.

At the moment the current fleet stands at:

EI-LAX - Leaving the fleet or retrofit (not sure which one)
EI-EWR - Leaving the fleet
EI-DAA - Currently undergoing retrofit
EI-DUO - AVOD fitted

EI-DUB - Leaving the fleet or retrofit (not sure which one)
EI-CRK - Leaving the fleet - being replaced by EI-EAV
EI-JFK - To be retrofitted
EI-ORD - Currently undergoing retrofit
EI-DUZ - AVOD fitted
EI-EAV - To be delivered February 09 (AVOD fitted)
EI-*** - To be delivered June 09 (AVOD fitted)

I'm not entirely sure how accurate this is but I'm sure if you book with Aer Lingus for the summer, there's a big chance you'll be on an aircraft with AVOD and new cabins. Hope it helps.

Thanks! I would be thrilled if I fly EI then. Unfortunately, the fare that I saw yesterday just jumped $100 over night.  Sad booooo Are you all familiar with the sale cycles of EI? I mean, they're having a sale right now... but will they have an even better one when the summer nears? Right now, I'm getting $955 from IAD-CDG mid-summer.... wha do ya'll think?
