Hi,
I have traveled on an 8 year old AA 777 in business class a few weeks back. I thought the service was very good, the FAs very helpful and the IFE easy to navigate and responsive.

BUT, the seat does not have a standard electrical socket so I couldn't plug my PC. One needed an adapter (looked like the cigar lighters you have in cars). When I enquired, I was told I could buy one for $125!!

Is this the case on the entire AA 777 fleet (even the newest ones)?
Why isn't it a standard socket which, in all my experiences on other 747-777 and A330-A340, can handle the US and Europe plugs?
