Hi Guys

Just booked LHR-JFK with VS and was wondering which aircraft they use on the VS003 and the VS004?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks mate. Im torn because i love the 744, but never been on an A346. So would be great to have a 744 one way and an A346 coming back!

Looks like im stuck with the A346 both ways, not that thats a bad thing! Thanks for the link. Surprised when reserving my seat, almost all seats were reserved, and this is for the 9th October. They cant have sold them all already could they?

Last time i flew VS was out of MAN and got stuck on the old Odyssey system or whatever its called, and had to watch things on a bloody loop! Just my luck there was only one film and 1 programme i wanted to watch and always turned on right at the end! Atleast i'll get the new VPort this time!

I personally prefer the A346 over the 747, the 2-4-2 arrangement gives a lot more space. It's got more of a modern feel to it and it's a hell of a lot quieter in my opinion.

Im really looking forward to flying in it to be honest! The 744 i flew from MAN was worn, really showing its age so i can understand where your coming from, even though the LHR fleet wont be as bad as that at MAN! I thought booking so early i might get a good seat. No!! No such chance, bog standard window seat. If i win the lottery will have to go to J!

The A346 is better, an I am a true 747 fan, but it is way quieter and more impressive in a subtle way. If you can, look out the window at the airport and note A346's next to all the other aircraft - soooooooo long! People are mainly against it as they feel like long haul should be done in a big top, but lets face it (and like I said, I love 747's)...the 747 take off is full of nasty vibrations and all through the flight it is damn noisy. Unless you sit within a few rows of the engines on an A346 it is very quiet. And incidentally, the worst row to sit in is in Upper Class - I can't remember the row number but I got it once and actually thought there was something wrong with the engine as the noise was so bad!! Turns out there is just one bad place to sit on an A346 and I was in it. Every other row is just fine.

Thanks for that mate. I am looking forward to travelling on the A346. Its an aircraft i have always wanted to travel. Well which Upper class seat could it be? I have an economy ticket booked but extremely tempted to upgrade. Did go on Vflyer and there is one or two business seats listed as 'dreadful'! But quite a few are not rated so dont want to spend all that money and have that racket in my ear. So any help would be appreciated!!

Totally agree about the 747! I love those planes but they were noisey!
