If I had enough money to buy a 5 jet fleet of airliners, the 1st jet would be a 777-200LR. What would be your top 5 jets to have?

Mine would also be a 777-200LR - best looking plane in the skies today.

Second would be the second-best looking plane in the skies today - the A340-500.

With those two, I don't think I'd need anything else.  Smile

757-200.

Even though I hate flying in coach on that aircraft, but it's soooo efficient and versatile!

Where will you fly?? If I was doing a domestic airline I'd pick the 320 or 738. Long haul probably 333

1) 777-200LR
2) 767-300ER
3) 757-200
4) 737-800

If it's my fleet I'm assuming that it's my private aircraft and not for commercial purposes. Well, OK. I'll play it both ways:

Private: 777-200ER / B767-300 / B757-200 / A340-600 / A319

If I owned an airline:
1 777-200ER / 2 767-300 / 1 A340-600 / 1 A319 (I'm assuming a long haul airline, pretty much all business class) Of course we know that business model doesn't work!

Good lord, you've got your choice of ANY airliners, and people are choosing everyday Boeings and Airbuses? That's like having your choice of cars and choosing a couple of Toyota Camry rental cars!

Here are my picks:

Interesting that no one chose the A380. I guess you're all thinking small, like a real-life start-up airline  Wink

So, I guess I'll be the first - A380, 772LR, 773ER, 744, 787
Yeah, my airline's going to be long-haul, none of this regional stuff for me - as long as I'm dreaming, I'll dream big

I was operating under the assumption these were planes available for delivery today and certified for operation at this time.

If this is any airliner ever, I would choose:

Concorde
Comet 4
Constellation
777-200LR
A340-500

I would replace the DC9 with an 8 tho...only flew them twice as a kid...man she was pretty. Nightmare to work on from what I hear...but def one of the sexiest planes ever built.

I'd buy 5 727-200s, have them re-engined with JT8D-217s (MD-80 engines) have two man glass cockpits installed and add Valsans winglets, i'd deck them out with four abreast leather seats at 40 inch pitch in a single class configuration, i'd also institute a four hour guarantee, if we can't get you from LA-NY in four hours, your return ticket is free, because we know that the 727 is a freaking rocket, so let's forget about conserving fuel, let's "kick the tires and light the fire."

Why are people so against low yields?! If lower yields means more people can travel abroad, i'm all for it
