HI, Can anybody tell me what Frankfurt main is like for spotting and would i get any trouble from the authorities,and the best place for taking photos.I will be there for two days in June.Also would i need to hire a car to get the best out of my trip any help would be appreciated,many thanks.

I love FRA for spotting. Especially the A-gates are great, as you are close to the taxiway and runways are parallel to the A-gates. Terminal 2 has a very nice terrace. What I escpecially love about FRA is the diversity in airlines and aircraft.
And last but not least; they also offer complimentary tea and coffee (airside)

Edit: I never had any problems making photos of aircraft.
Entrance fee applies; security check is performed like going airside w/o boarding pass though.
This place in general is facing south, making photography a bit difficult.
Summer sunshine in Germany often comes with decent humidity producing haze in long shots.
