Hey Everyone,
So I've just received confirmation that I am going to be flying on 30APR YYZ-CDG-ABJ on Air France in Y class... boo! I attempted to find information on the AF website about what will be offered on the flights, but the pickings are slim. Does anyone have any information for me as per these flights and what will be offered amenity wise, food wise, service wise...??? My flights are as follows :
TORONTO PARIS/DEGAULLE AIR FRANCE 353 L 30 APR 09 1640 0605 OK
SEAT-48J
PARIS/DEGAULLE ABIDJAN AIR FRANCE 702 L 01 MAY 09 1350 1805 OK
SEAT-45E

Dear Fly2YYZ
on both flights, the amenity kit will include eyes cover, ear plugs, headset and perfumed towelette. Alcohol is free, even champagne in Y
YYZ-CDG : you'll have diner and breakfast. The flight is on a B747. Only a few of AF744 have PTV on the lower deck (48J) is on the lower deck. It's not possible to know which frame you'll have, so good luck. The best to do if you can is to try to have a seat on the upper deck. The cabin is much quieter, the seats are much comfortable (higher pitch) and all seats have PTV.
CDG-ABJ : you'll have lunch served. i'm not sure if there is a light meal served before landing or not. The flight is operated by a B772. All seats have PTV and most 772 have now the new IFE with a great choice of movies, TV shows, etc.

Agree, the upper deck on AF 744s is the best Y class seating on any transatlantic airline in my opinion. I flew GVA-YYZ-GVA via CDG a couple of weeks ago on AF and they were among my best Y class flights in years. I have been avoiding AF since I don't like connecting at CDG but I chose them this time as they had by far the lowest fare when I booked.
The upper deck seats are very spacious with 34 inch pitch and with 2 flight attendants in that cabin, service is fast. It was even better on both my flights as the upper deck was almost empty. No more than 15 of the 60 seats were occupied in both directions so everyone had 3 seats to themselves. I don't think the load was very good on the main deck either but I didn't go downstairs to check.
