Changing Planes In SXM

I'm flying DL from ATL to SXM and then connecting to a WM flight to SBH about an hour and 40 minutes later. It is on one ticket so the bags will be checked through but will we need to clear customs / immigration in SXM? Or do they have a transit area? Same question for the return. Thanks!
