Never flown on US before, just wondering what to expect. Flying on US 1520, A319, DEN-CLT later this month and connecting to a Republic 175. So what, generally, should I expect in terms of customer service, in flight service, etc? I've pretty much only heard horror stories.
Also, how are the Saab 340s running out of LGA?

Don't let the horror stories get to you. If all you expect is a bad experience, chances are you'll get a bad experience. Personally, I've done well over 30 flights with US, never once a bad experience. CLT is if not THE best airport in the USA and I hope you'll go to Carolina Pit BBQ too .

From my standpoint, US is a bit better than UA. Although no IFE, US does do a lot of food and beverage services. It looks like to me you have a morning flight, so it's a great time to get some shut-eye. It's good you are avoiding PHL . And my flights into CLT seems to come in much earlier than my PHL trips, so chances are you'll get to CLT early .
CLT is a great airport. Customer Service is a real thing that sticks out to me in CLT. When you walk around, see if you see the gate agents, vendors, and the people with the shuttle carts smile. Carolina Pit is my must in CLT. Get the Chicken BBQ and Fried Okra. Always comes with a fried pickle . You'll have enough time with a 70 min conx. If you have the time, in the central hall, go up the stairs above the Bank of America Business Center. It's usually quiet, a great place to relax and take pics. Surf A.Net on CLT's free wifi too . I did heheh.
As for the SAABs, there are some in LGA, but I noticed there are more in BOS. If you want to fly one, you're best bet is out of BOS (and if ya do, could you please sneak me out a safety card for your great advice giver , thanks)

I've generally had better luck with US Airways Express than the mainline. Never had a problem on the Republic E-175s - nice planes, pretty comfortable. Easily the best coach product that US Airways offers.
CLT's a decent airport - a fair bit of walking if stuck out on the E Concourse, but I think they've moved all the E-Jets into B/C. Gets the job done as an airport - runway configuration is decent where there aren't too many delays. As noted above, you made the right decision in avoiding PHL, which quite frankly just needs to be bulldozed.
I personally prefer UA, but a huge chunk of that is due to Economy Plus (one of the perks of being a United elite-card holder). I think in regular coach though, service differentials between UA and US is pretty negligible - the only differences are leather vs cloth seats, and if you want to watch a movie overhead.

Flying back MHT-LGA-DEN on a SF3 and 752 . . . no promises on the safety card, though

More like a terminal change because of the switch from US to UA.
In CLT:
But anyways, all the E-jets will come in and depart out of C concourse, and it will be a toss up if you arrive on B, C, or D. If you do arrive on D, it is a good chance your plane is about to go down to the Caribbean.

Actually, I find that lowering my expectations usually makes a flight seems better. Granted I don't ever expect a bad experience, but when I get on a plane expecting to be taken from point A to point B reasonably close to on time and nothing more, then anything more than that makes the flight seem good.

I actually do the same thing. I don't have very high expectations and never have so all of my flights seem fine. Works for me because I have only been on a flight or two that I truly didn't like.
As far as US Airways goes, I flew from DTW to PHX on a west A320 and the plane was nice and cold like I like it. The snacks weren't anything special but the service was good and they were generous with the drinks. Granted that was a US West flight operated by old America West crews. I haven't been on a US East flight however.
Overall, US Airways really hasn't disappointed me yet
