Hey,

I would like to viist family from LHR and we'd be leaving from the YUL/YYZ/JFK/BOS/EWR area. Last year I booked a ticket 4 months in advance with my then gf (Now ex) and she broke up with me a few months before our trip. I went going by myself and enjoyed it but still it was a complete mess. Maybe I'm stupid (but thats another post for another time), but my new gf and I would like to go to LHR. Her mother is willing to help with the money, however I am very anxious about booking 4 months in advance again. We'd be there for xmas and right now its fairly cheap out of YUL. I was wondering if it would be very expensive to book 4 weeks in advance to prevent a repeat. We;d be leaving a few days from xmas and returning a few days into the new year.
Thanks for your help!

Not that expensive... Carriers are looking at the last minute to fill planes and by discounting airfare that helps allot. I have found some of the best deals 7-10days out from my departure date. So good luck!  yes

I fly to FRA twice a year and generally book 7-14 days out and always get great deals.

One Spring break, I had nothing planned so I wanted to go to Florida. My family and I booked AirTran PHF-MCO-PHF r/t for about $120 per person. Not bad  Smile

Thanks for all the replies. I am happy to know that I can wait a little bit before booking. As a rule in my family, we always use to book 6 months out or so.
