A318 Or Boeing 777-300ER?!

Hi!

At the moment I am looking at my flight options back from the US to Europe for my Christmas trip.
"Sadly" I have to make a decision between two types of aircraft that I have not flown on so far (it should be: luckily I get to fly on a new model).
The options are: Going back on AF on an A340 or a 777-200 and catching the A318 to DUS or waiting a bit at IAD and taking the 777-300ER.
Latter option will cost 20 Euros more but I am not sure which will be more likely, to fly on an A318 or on a 777-300ER in the near future.

I am also hoping that I'll get my 764 now, after Delta robbed me last time due to an equipment change.  Smile

I say go for the 773ER, as you could always fly to France one day for the fun of it!  Big grin

Also, is IAD on the 773ER destination list? I thought it was only doing NRT and JFK every now and then.

Well, it's on the winter schedule. The later of the two flights. AF flight #27.
I was really surprised to see this, too.
But in my attempt to get the most flights and miles and different aircraft as possible out of this trip, I discovered this one.
Somehow I am trying to fill in a 13th segment on my trip but I am not having too much luck.
 Sad

Yes, its a very comfortable plane and this is really very good on AF with their B777-300ER. I will try to make flying on their 777 again in the future.

Well it looks as if I should be going on the T7. Another goodie is the AF 735, since they will soon be retired and replaced by the A318. So I am guessing to be able to get on one of those guys sooon enough, anyway.

hmm good question. Personally I've done A319 and A320 but never any 777, so I'd go Triple 7. Thats just me though.

Enjoy yer trip!

I would go for the A318, it's a rare plane, more rare than the 773...

The 773ER!!!! In a couple of years, AF will flood their Euro network with A318s, and the 773ERs will go to Asia!!

I am sure you will run into both these at some stage if you fly a bit (and you do judged from your profile). They will both be around for a while.

I would get the B773ER now, you could always take the A318 of a cheap weekend trip to Paris, or even an award ticket (short flight only a few points).

Have fun, Michael

Go for the triple7... if you have flown on any other A320-series, the A318 is not different from those... just shorter...
