Hey everyone,
No idea where else to post this other than A.net
So, I live in DAB. I want to grab my plane and fly somewhere cool for the day. I've been to Clearwater and St. Augustine and have been Ok places - nothing out of the ordinary.
Has any of you got any proposals of a place worth going to? It would be either Saturday or Sunday, leave in the morning, have some nice lunch, and come back around 1500.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance,
Enrique.

Have you done the "$100 hamburger" up to Flagler? I've done that a couple times. There's a restaurant at the airport called "High Jackers" and I highly recommend getting a bowl of the Wisconsin Beer-Cheese soup. May not occupy you for the full day if you're looking to spend most of the day flying (Flagler is about a 20 minute flight tops from DAB).
As for other options in the state, I'd head south to the West Palm Beach or FLL area.

VNC. Good restaurant over there, and it's a pretty decent flight - about 1.5 to 2.0 each way, depending on how you go (I went via MLB on the way there, and via ORL on the way back.
If you're taking an ERAU plane, ask the flight supervisor if they have some coupons. I dropped some off when I came back from there (the restaurant staff pretty much begged me to take them), and they might still be sitting in a drawer there.

You should go to SAV and if you have time go by and see HHH. SAV is a very nice old city. they have tram tours and a walkway on the river with great southern cuisine. HHH is always fun too and they have a small touristy place at the foot called harbortown with a lighthouse and all thats really fun.

When I do my one or two day mileage specials, its not where I want to go...
Its "I have so much $$$ to play around with, where will it take me"?
Try that approach and look at airTran first. They set the trend for the elCheapo flights.

Do you mind over water flights? Walkers cay, I think you need to call ahead for permission since it is a private field, Freeport?
What about St. Augustine? There are so many places to see in the area with a plane. SAV seems like a nice destination too.
