DTW To The York Area On SkyTeam?

I am planning another trip to the UK. I am planning on staying with a friend who lives near York. The last time I was there I stayed in Leeds and flew into MAN. I will be flying out of DTW and would like to fly on a Skyteam carrier. It is a fairly long train ride from MAN to York. It is easy to get the train at MAN. Is there a closer airport to York that a SkyTeam carrier flies to? LBA is closer to York, but is there train service there?

There is no train service to LBA, but there is a bus service every half hour during the day, which takes you to the train station for £2.50, from where it's a about half hour ride to York on the train. As you probably know, KLM serves LBA from AMS several times a day.

I have checked that out. KL has a much higher price DTW-AMS-MAN or DTW-AMS-LBA than AF has DTW-CDG-MAN, during the time I want to travel. I may just fly into MAN to save the money and just deal with the longer transit time to York.

That isn't bad. Is the bus station easy to get to from the airport? I would rather fly into LBA and that is what I will do if the price changes.

KLM also fly AMS to Humberside (HUY) and Durham / Tees Valley (MME), these might be closer to York than MAN, though probably not than Leeds!

I know Jet2 aren't SkyTeam, but nice to try something new surely?
