AA, followed by US.

AA is the most elegant, but i always loved America West's colors.
The sky is no longer the limit, but the mere minimum

As far as current airlines, I'm rather fond of UA's current livery.
However, I don't think anything's ever gonna beat this one for me

Continental has the most elegant livery of the USA. US Airlines' previous livery was not innovative but good. Nowadays Delta's and UA's liveries are really disappointing. Skybus, Southwest and jetBlue had/have solid liveries. Braniff was excellent.

I like Lufthansa's a lot. Even with a lot of white, it looks professional (probably because of the gray bottom). And the Skyteam liveries

AA then US. American Airlines has a classic livery and US has very professional livery

Of US airlines, American Airlines all the way.
I guess I'm in the minority. I think the AA livery *was* elegant. Now, the planes aren't quite shiny enough and frankly, the livery looks like what it is: old. Outdated. From the 70's.
But I think they've decided that they're keeping it come hell or high water, so the AA livery will be around until the last AA flight lands.

Quoting NWADC9 (Reply 14): Midwest Express (the livery before the current) and YX's livery today
Northwest's Bowling Shoe
I quite agree, good sir.
My personal favorites, as far as elegance:
Northwest Bowling Shoe (I will never forgive NW for making that brutal change to the compass logo, and the change they made to the livery. Though admittedly I am biased being a youngin, as it was a staple of my childhood aviation experience). Also, I'll note that I can't choose a favorite aircraft type for this livery...it's one of only a handful of liveries I've ever seen that simply looks amazing on every aircraft it's put on.
But when it comes to classy elegant liveries, nothing will beat what came out of the 90s. Some honorable mentions:
Continental's current livery
TWA's last livery
Vanguard's last livery
US Airways old livery
1980s last USAir colors
American Airlines' current colors (especially on the MD-80s)
Delta's old old widget colors

I really was disappointed that US Airways got a new livery, but the new livery has continued to grow on me. My vote is for the new and old US liveries, followed by the United livery and Northwest colors.

I guess I have to go with AA on this one. Recently I saw an almost-new 738, and it was gleaming in the sun. Nothing can beat bare metal done right.
Honorable mentions to Midwest, Sun Country, Northwest, Southwest, and United.

I was in the USA again after a while and I noticed most airlines had a white top and a blue belly and / or tail; United, US Airways, Jetblue, Delta, Continental. Therefore I applaud airlines who dare to stand out and wish some more airlines would come up with something completely different.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

On Concorde, my all-time favourites were the old British Airways Chatham and Landor liveries. So classy they fit Concorde so well.
Then Singapore Airlines' Golden Bird. That was the only livery on Concorde that flew at Mach2 other than Air France and British Airways when they used to do Barhain and Singapore.
For the A380 it is the actual Airbus livery that I prefer.
Also EL AL I think it is a very beautiful, simple and stylish livery. I hope they will never change it.
Air Tahiti Nui also has a very beautiful livery.
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde
