I have 36000, miles left with the star (UA). Not even close to the hundreds of thousands I use to have. I haven’t earned any additional miles in almost 3 years, this due in part to my past (US) and present flight benefits with WN. I have just been able to use them when I get stranded somewhere or for a nice upgrade/ vacation here and there. What’s left, expires 12/31/09. I only have two days off this upcoming week, and want to use them!!
I figured I could let everyone input suggestions of where to go; I would be down just to fly on a cool route, a big plane, or make multiple connections. I live in LAS... let the fun begin.

You could always buy some miles to keep them open.
I had 60,000 about to expire so I just purchased 1000 miles to keep my account active.
You are now free to be sexually harassed and then terminated for filing a complaint--Southwest Airlines to me.

If you are set on flying somewhere the domestic 777 flights are decent - and nice to get a widebody on a domestic flight in the US.

Keep in mind that the miles expire at the end of the month, not that you need to travel by then. You can redeem the miles for any bookable travel date, so if you wanted to go somewhere next year, you could. Caribbean is 35k miles (I think) which could work out, especially with CO and US having quite a few flights down there.
