A while ago, we booked flights for next April from LHR to BGR (with DL, via JFK) with an online booking agent (not sure if I can give the name here?)
Our flight from LHR to JFK is DL4, and the booking we made stated that the flight arrives into JFK at 1:05PM. The connecting flight to BGR, DL6500 is scheduled to leave JFK at 2:30PM.
However, in recent days I've logged into DELTA.com and am greeted by a yellowish message:
"There has been a change affecting one or more of your flights. Your itinerary has been updated, but it may cause you to miss at least one connecting flight during your trip."
The change in question is the arrival time of DL4 into JFK - while the flight still claims to depart LHR at 10:05AM local time, it now says it arrrives into JFK at 1:15PM (ten minutes later than previously stated).
What's going on here? How has the arrival time changed but the departure time stayed the same...? Am I likely to miss my connecting flight? What do I do?

Quoting Vasu (Thread starter): What's going on here? How has the arrival time changed but the departure time stayed the same...? Am I likely to miss my connecting flight? What do I do?
1) The schedule change might be the result of an administrative block time change (DL allocated more time for ATC holds, LHR take of queue, gate availability issues or simply to improve on-time performance). It may also be a driven by fuel burn optimization or routing. Note: I was trying to explain how such a change can happen, they may not apply to the particular case of your flight.
2) You encountered a standard message that Delta posts after every schedule change. However you had a tight connection that now became 10 minutes tighter. Delta made changes to my itinerary waiving the change fee following similar schedule changes - give it a try.

I am also travelling on DL4 just before Christmas connecting to BUF. One thing to watch is DL4 arrives at terminal 4 JFK with onward connections from T2 or T3. Not sure whether to go through security in T4 and take the Delta airside bus shuttle over to T2/T3 after rechecking the bags or going across on the Airtrain. Any suggestions?

Quoting MH017 (Reply 3): Arriving 345pm on AF6 (A380) from CDG and departing on DL6695 at 715pm...
With changing Terminals @ JFK and expecting a full load on AF (+ consequently Immigration/Customs delays as a result), is 3.5 hours sufficient, given the fact that I have to (re)check-in for DL ?
More than enough time. If your 2 bookings are on the same dossier, AF should be able to give you your DL BP
For your info, I've done a similar transfer last summer (AF to NW in JFK with a checked bag) in just 30 min. OK, I was travelling in J but it's just to show you that 3.5 hrs are more than enough.
