I am booking a trip to ATH the end of Jan. I want to fly with a skyteam carrier and DL, AF and AZ are all about the same price. The flights would be DL BOS-JFK-ATH (CR9/767) ; AF BOS-CDG-ATH (343/320) or AZ BOS-FCO-ATH (332/321). Since the price of these three carriers are with in dollars of each other, which is the best to take in regards to comfort (seats), IFE, food and service. I have never flown international with any of them. I usually fly international with NWA/KLM and VS. I have heard negative things about alitalia's bos-fco service but i believe it is now operated by airone.

The BOS-AMS-ATH flight on NWA/KLM was around $650 more than these three options. I have flown the BOS-AMS flight several times with NWA and it is an ok flight, I would take that if it was an option but it is a lot more.

I would chose AF with the A343. As said in reply 2, DL763 are not really fun in Y and you never know what could happen with AZ
The A343 are quiet, with a nice config in Y, PTV AVOD. AF service in Y is nice with free alcohol including champagne and the food is generally good

That's an excellent summary of the AF 343 experience, though the f/as aren't always the nicest. That said, FCO is sure to be a nicer transfer experience than CDG, and AF shorthaul versus AZ shorthaul is likely to be a wash - though AZ's green interiors are REALLY ugly. I might give AZ a slight edge simply because you'll be on longhaul more and shorthaul less since FCO is closer to ATH.

CDG is definitely not the best airport for connections but it's not anymore the nightmare that some people describe. Things have greatly improved these last years since the complete opening of 2E and the concentration of AF operations at 2F/2E/2C/2D
