24h Airport - Who Is The Frontrunner?

Of all the major large international airport hubs in the world, who would be the 24h airport leader?

I am not all that familiar with global route schedules, but know there are busy night-time operations in DXB, India, and Asia. I recently noticed departures all night long in HKG, and assume they are not just cargo carriers (and of course HKG lends itself well to night-time ops due to somewhat remote location on a reclaimed island, so less noise restrictions).

So my guess would be DXB, HKG or SIN, with mixture of night-time pax and cargo flights.

PEK operates 24hrs, right? I believe it has a higher pax count than HKG.

I would say BOM if you are looking at how even the distribution of passengers is over a 24 hour period.

I 2nd that for passengers flow per hour.

But I think the measure should be total passengers over 24 hours.

In that, LAX moves up. Even though from 2am to 7 am it is a pretty dead airport.  Wink
Well... at least last year.  spin  (Gasp, it is #7 now! Sigh...)

checkmark  Being more serious, I would expect PEK to take the honors, partially thanks to the 3rd runway.

Yes, BOM is up there.

What makes HKG unique however is the large cargo volume that plays into the 24h mix. I am sure there are busy night-time cargo ops at HKG. That's where PEK or BOM have much less umpf.

And is PEK as unrestricted on noise procedures as say HKG?
PEK is much more within city/suburb limits than HKG. Then again it is China and not LHR or FRA...

For a US airport I was amazed at the amount of traffic LAX had around 12am. I was on an LAX-IAD red eye we departed the gate around 12:00am and had a 20min wait in line for takeoff.
