Hello all,
I would like to inquire as to what is the best way to get to Manhattan from EWR and JFK. What would you reccomend? Taxi, subway? I perfer town car, I assume those would be available, but unsure of the price.

I tend to go train - roughly a 30 minute train ride, cost from EWR is $15, from JFK I think it's around $12.
Towncars will probably start out at around $60 one-way.

OK, the train is the cheapest way to travel to both airports. If you are interested in a reasonable price for a towncar then I reccomend Carmel Limo. You can even print out a discount coupon on the website:

The answer depends on your budget and amount of time you wish to spend in transit.
Fastest way from EWR or JFK tends to be taxi or car service. JFK to Manhattan in a taxi is flat rate $45. EWR to Manhattan varies by destination but ranges $60 to $80.
Trains are easy to do from either (as shared by others).
EWR - airtrain from terminals to railink station - NJ Transit to Penn Station is $15. Amtrak to Penn Station is about $30.
JFK has three options - airtrain to Jamaica for the LIRR to Manhattan (about $12). Airtrain to Jamaica for the E subway ($7). Airtrain to Howard Beach for the A subway ($7). These options will each use a different route to Manhattan and people will often chose the route that works best based on the final destination (for example - I can take the A train all the way to 145th street and walk the 5 block to my apt - but it can take up to 2 hrs).

There's two options. The one I'd recommend is take the AirTrain to Jamaica, then hop on the E train which will take you to 42nd/8th, which is one block away from Times Square.
Also, if you are traveling on a weekend, there is a discounted LIRR ticket that is $3.50 or so each way ($1.25 more than the subway) that takes you to Penn Station. There's 1-2 stops along the way and it's on a commuter rail station, versus the E train, which is maybe 15-20 stops on a subway car. I'd pay the $1.25 premium for the commuter rail, then walk the 10 blocks (5 minutes or so, even with bags - done it 4 times this year) up to Times Square/Rockefeller Center (that's more of a 10-15 minute walk...)

Both the A and E subway from JFK it will take you to Time Square and Midtown. Rock Center is a touch east and the E-train may be a touch closer (to 53rd & 5th) or transfer from the E to the V to 47-50 Rock Center (a number of transfer points). Time Square is a huge connection point for subway lines (1,2,3,7,A,C,E,N,Q,R,W). Basically either route will get you to the area.

I'd use the E. It's faster than the A (eight stops to Midtown vs. nineteen), and will either get you to where you need to go or let you transfer to another line that does.
To Rockefeller Center, take the E to 5th Avenue. I wouldn't bother transferring to the V - it's not worth it for such a short trip when you can just walk south 4 blocks on 5th Avenue and be there.
To Times Square, take the E to 42nd Street. You'll end up at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue, and Times Square is one block to the east at 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue.
To Midtown...well, Midtown is a big place. If you could be a bit more specific as to where you need to go, we could give you better directions. There are a lot of lines that go through Midtown (the E has easy connections to pretty much all of them).

From JFK Do make sure if you are getting a taxi you take one of the registered yellow cabs. As mentioned already it is a flat €45 rate. Don't go with someone outside who says his private company will do a better deal, they won't.
