At the risk of being shot by my fellow countrymen by referring to EI (And Belfast  Smile/happy/getting dizzy ) as being "UK" how about Belfast to Shannon by EI A330 which they did up to 9-11?

Otherwise to more acurately answer your question i'd say Moscow with BA B767.

I saw a BA B767 at GVA back in January though not sure if this was a regular visitor from LHR.

BA used to use its B767's to CDG and even MAN on occasions from LHR, though I'm not sure what their shortest regular wide-body route is today.

Do AF still use widebodies from CDG to LHR? Used to be almost entirely A300's from them.

Shortest I could find was:

BA 566 - LHR / MXP 583 miles on a 763

LH has a bunch of A300 flights from FRA to both MUC and TXL. The shortest flights with the transcontinental equipped B744s and A340s/A330s are FRA-TLV and FRA-CAI.
Cheers

I don't want to be rude, but there have been over a hundred threads on this subject, many in the last few months. Try the search feature for "shortest widebody"

I'd guess that the shortest American flown wide-body flight would be the CVG-CMH flight on a 757. According to http://www.airnav.com/ it is 99.9 NM at a true heading of 055.

Hey Neil....The "shortest widebody" must be the 747-SP..you know, the one SAA had.
Now, if you meant the shortest route, EA flew tristars between MIA and FLL at night as position moves for the morning originators. Time frame was mid 70's.
You are correct in your post. We covered this, but maybe the guys new..ok?

Okay, this isn't anywhere near Europe, or having to deal with the UK, but Air Jamaica used to fly MBJ-KIN using their A310's (among other aircraft). Those are all retired now, and I'm not sure if the A340's do it sometimes. That'll have to be a record.

Don't forget Tokyo to Osaka, about 250 miles - both JAL and ANA fly 744's on this route. JAL also flies 777's on it.

BA also operate the 767 on DUS to LHR sometimes. It's a 50 min flight.

BA operate widebodies to Cairo - eg 744, which a really short flight for a 744.
