I have plan to a visit to Dubai in February.
I have seen an Emirates direct flight on a 777 or a Qatar Airways via Doha on A333 and 777 (on short leg).
Qatar flight is cheaper (there is a special offer, it's half the price of Emirates), and I like the stop over at Doha airport (for me unusual).
But I've never flow with Emirates.
Any suggestion?

Thank You

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

I think it all depends on what you really want to experience.

I can't really gather whether you already have flown with Qatar before. If this was the case and you wish to fly a new airline, then Emirates could be an option.

If you have never been with A333 and you wish to sample a new aircraft type, then I would say Qatar.

I haven't used Emirates yet, but in terms of service based on my own experience, I would recommend Qatar!

Cheers,
Suryo

Definetly Qatar! Maybe Im being biased but QR has better seats in economy and business class as EK crams 10 people abreast. IN business QR has a maximum of 6 seats per row reguardless of aircraft, so that is a big bonus. The price is half of EK, are you kidding? LOL!

Have a safe a pleasant flight! Big grin

Thank You for your answers.

After your suggestion, at the end I've booked on QR.
I've never with EK nor QR, but I've flown with both 777 or A333.

Regarding the seat, I've seen that both EK and QR have the same seat pich and width on A333 and B777, the aircraft used on italian market.

I 'm also attracted by the DOH DXB leg on 777. I've always liked short trip on widebodies.

I see that in QR fleet there aren't any 777 in high density configuration, so I suppose they use on some short trunk routes the intercontinetal configured aircraft, isn't it

Ciao

Stefano

All of the 777s in QR have low density and used on both short, medium, and long haul routes.  Smile

Actually, the seats on QR are wider, as the EK 777s have an extra seat added to each row.  Smile

Have a nice flight, and hope you do a trip report!

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

I prefer Emirates direct flight instead Qatar flights changing at Doha.

But if you are considering a cheap flight, why not an Air Italy direct flight on a 767?

Regards,

Gerard

Pro EK
-Nonstop
-New experience
-DXB's T3
-Better timings probably

Pro QR
-DOH is a great transit exeprience
-Flying the 777 on a short leg is a great experience. Plus, the remote boarding allows you to see how big the plane actually is.
-Cheaper price.
