I see that IL 86 was banned from Europe and phased out by many russian airlines.
Il 96 are still flying with CIS airlines but are really rare in Europe.
Have you any suggestion to take for a short trip (one or to day) a russian widebody?

I fear the only scheduled Il-96 service worldwide is Cubana, but I guess they will be around for several more years. Aeroflot has officially retired them from scheduled service, but it might be worth investigating if they serve some high-demand routes during the summer period (AYT?).
Il-86 is the same fate, no more scheduled service except maybe some occasional high-demand routes. I remember the Atlant-Soyuz Il-86s were scheduled to be retired last week of August 09, but there are still photos of them in the database up to October 09 I think.
I would recommend to check Amadeus schedules for the coming summer peak period.
Btw, if some is able to look into Amadeus, are there still any scheduled CU Il-62 flights in 2010?
I have been mislead by the official retirement announcements numerous times. My assumption was based on some topics from last year, when SU was quoted that the Il-96s will be all gone by the end of the summer schedule 2009. The same seems to have happened to the Ural and Atlant Soyuz Il-86s. But good news anyway.

It is flying to CCS on an irregular basis. Only Amadeus schedules will tell which days.
