7 Hr Layover In Seoul

I am planning a trip to BKK via ICN; anyone have any experience on the airport activities, ie eat, drink, shopping, spotting, lounge, or anything close by thats interesting?

ICN airport is amazing. They even have organized tours (4hrs, 6hrs, 8hrs) for PAX with long layovers. If you are flying OZ...you are entitled to free accommodation (few hours).

ICN has been vowed the best airport in Asia again for the 3rd or 4th consecutive time (just ahead of SIN)...

Having just flown AMS-ICN-SGN on KE, I can attest it's a fantastic airport: very roomy, great shops and fantastic viewing from the gates !!!
Nice as it is, 7 hours can be a long wait: I would choose a city-tour unless you're a vivid aircraft spotter (some nice airlines can be seen there)...

don't throw away tomorrow !

As previous users have stated, ICN is simply one of the best airports to spend a long layover period. Will you be travelling in coach or business ? I always had the pleasure of flying business class while transiting through ICN (coming from FRA connecting to BNE also a 7 hours layover) and usually spend a couple of hours shopping and wandering through the airport before going to the KE lounge for a bit of relaxation and taking a long shower before the night flight to BNE. I once considered taking the organised tours but decided to stay in the airport and I can tell you that the time past very quickly.

Go to the upper eatery deck, and outside one of the coffee cafes are large windows overlooking the entire interior and exterior terminals. There are large "rocks" next to the windows, but they're actually incredibly comfy seating cushions! It's a great place to sit back, drink some coffee, and get great views of the airport.

With 7-hours you can easily take an airport offered transit tour including one of the DMZ.
