I will be traveling to Washington, DC in a few months, MSY-ATL-DCA and DCA-MEM-MSY. I have a BlackBerry Storm, and would like to try DL's eBoarding pass. On the DL website, I see this works at ATL, DCA, and MEM, but not yet MSY. I don't know how old this is, so new cities may have been added:
1. Well first, just confirming, paperless boarding is still an option, right?
2. Does MSY accept these yet?
3. If I have a bag to check, can I do it through my phone (and I suppose pay for it as well)?
4. Have there been any problems with the paperless boarding pass working?
5. Do screen protectors interfere when scanning at the gate?
Thanks in advance!

I've only used it I think in SLC.
The scanner didn't have a problem with the screen protector on my iphone.
I don't know if MSY has it but I'm pretty certain you cannot use that option at airports without the capablity. I tried to use it out of NKT (I think) and it didn't give me the option.
I'm elite with DL so I don't pay bag fees can't help you there. When checking bags I just used my skymiles # at a kiosk it gave me the option of printing a paper BP.
I'm sure there have been problems the agent at the gate manually entered mine and looked a little put out when she saw I had the BP on my phone. I guess the scanner doesn't always read it well though the TSA reader worked fine.

I have used it on the iPhone in Atlanta myself a couple of times, and being from New Orleans, have traveled through MSY many times. I did notice the 'machine' at MSY on my last trip back to Atlanta after Christmas, but not sure if it was operational and didn't think to ask. It didn't give me the option when I checked in online though, so I'm guessing it wasn't working yet.
The times I have used it in Atlanta, I have not checked bags, so not sure how that works, but i do have a screen protector on my iPhone and didn't have any problems.

I was flying from JAX and noticed at the security check point they scanned the phones bar code with a red light. Nifty I thought. I think you have to chance to use both? But JAX is usually more advanced than most airports.
