I'm flying Continental's BusinessFirst to Athens on a 767 in June. I just wanted to hear people's opinions about the BusinessFirst seat and service. I know the seats are out-dated but are they really that bad? Also, how is the pre-flight experience on BusinessFirst?

I've enjoyed them, but find the 767 seat the worst of the fleet. I much prefer the 757 cradle, or the 777 near flat, both of which are being replaced with lie-flat seats before the 767 gets upgraded...

Anyway, while more eyeballs may see it here, this is a "polls and prefs" kind of post no?

preflight experience is enjoyable if the coach boarding is done through L2. Otherwise, you'll have 200 people walking by you.........but hihgly unlikely that L1 would be the main boarding door for the flight.

okay, I'm waiting for the rich to spread the wealth around to me. Please mail your checks to my house.

If it is a 762 for ATH, L1 will be the boarding door.

There's a few CO reports in the Trip Reports forum. You could do a search and see how European BF service is like or the route to ATH. I actually did the ATH flight a few years ago, but in Y, and it was a nice flight!

In June, EWR-ATH is a 764.

I was too lazy to look it up. Thanks! In that case it will likely be an L2 door depending on the gate.

I had the chance to fly the 767 in Businessfirst some time back and I would recommend the single seat in the middle of the plane, very nice.

you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!

CO's BizFirst service is very nice, IMHO. I took it to London last spring, and thoroughly enjoyed the flight.
The 767 seat isn't the best, but the single seat in the middle is something that has become very rare for a business class- Delta and the lot do 2-2-2. So, snag that seat.
The IFE on the 767 fleet is also outdated. BUT- it's still pretty good, I think.
In short, you take CO J for the service, not for the IFE or the seat.
Also, the President's clubs (to which you will have free access at the departing point, and usually some sort of shower/partner facility at arrival) are quite nice.

I suspect you'll thoroughly enjoy your trip, just as I have.
