In late august, I am flying MUC-JFK, preferably using my Delta skymiles. So that said, the award booking system provided me with two basic options:
AF 2523 (A320), Followed by AF 8 (777)
DL131 (767-400), Followed by a varying number of DL flights (no direct flight shown, but I'm familiar with domestic business class).
Anyway, my question is, which Business class config is better? I know DL was planning to install those new Business seats on the rest of the 764 fleet, I just don't know by when...
Thanks.

I never tried the new J seat of DL so cannot comment or compare on that. But the reviews read here on A.net are good. AFAIK, the new seats are not yet widely available on DL network. AF seat is much better that the current (old) DL seat. Both services are good. I have a tendency to prefer AF service, because DL meal service just take forever. For the food, I prefer also AF but maybe because I'm French !

I think that they still only have 7 764s converted, and those are concentrated mostly (if not exclusively) on LHR flights.
Why do Aerospace Engineering students have to turn things in on time?

If that's the case, then IMO the choice is quite clear......AF! The one caveat may be connecting airports - AMS (which you could fly through on DL) is a lot nicer/easier than CDG (the sole AF option) tends to be.
