There are four of us travelling CO from SAT-IAH-EWR-MXP on 4/22. CO shows the EWR-MXP flight cancelled thru 4/20. However, LH is resuming almost all service from the USA to FRA and MUC today. IF LH can do it, whats going on with CO? Their web site has been a very poor source of information during this time. They seemed to have dropped the ball. I hope this is not their new approach to customer service under Jeff Smisek.
(BTW my wife and I are both Platinum Elites with CO, so we have put our money where our mouth is in regards to CO.)

I don't think it has anything to do with Jeff. It has to do with scheduling ops at EWR just being a total mess after the Volcano. I'd see if you can get there on another star alliance carrier: United, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Scandinavian etc. Any of these carriers have comparable, if not better service than CO across the atlantic.

+1, crews and aircraft are out of position all over the place. CO is trying to resume the normal schedule, but our high aircraft utilization rate is causing issues.
As a CO employee I will also admit that we are not the best at irregular ops. I'm sure there is someone working on making it better, but compared with airlines like AA we are not at the same level.

Just get prepared, Jeffy is making changes they are not close to passenger friendly in terms of what the most frequent CO flying folk are used to finding on CO flights.
For example.....pay more for exit row seats...buy food in the economy cabin with your credit card.............................and the most recent act, no response to overhead bin charges!!!! Is this all related to the volcano eruption???/ I think NOT!

Just because Jeff didn't kowtow to some useless political stunt by the loudmouth Chuck Schumer (who is no friend of Continental) doesn't mean that CO will be levying carry on charges any time soon.
In terms of fees and ancillary revenues, CO is a follower, not a leader. They will be a lot quicker to respond now than in years past, but it is highly unlikely that they will be the first movers on any new nickel-and-diming.

LH has more to lose than CO. LH had to halt their entire operations, basically, while CO has to reshuffle their planes to get their European ops back in order as the rest of their ops has been functioning. Go to FlyerTalk if you want to complain about CO dropping the ball.

Can't CO shift ops to the IAH and go to Southern Europe? Looks like they are wait and see at EWR.
