While looking on ACs web-site, I see that AC have some B763s fitted with Comfort Plus seats instead of normal AC international J seats. I was wondering if AC is thinking of installing comfort plus on their domestic aircraft?

I think there are 3 (?) odd-ball 763s that don't have the international J seats (pods0 installed, but have the older domestic J class seats. IIRC these a/c are deployed on lower-yield routes and the Comfort Class cabin is the domestic J seating sold at a premium over Y, but with Y cabin service.

They're deployed on lower-yield seasonals - YUL/YYZ - BCN/ATH and YYZ - DUB this summer. Are these the last ex-CP 763s in the fleet?

No, they are not exCP, they were an oddball lease when capacity was needed.

In the winter, they are used on low yield vacation type markets. The "Comfort Plus" cabin is to compete with Air Transat and its Club product.

The majority of the AC B763 fleet is ex-CP except for these 3. AC only 6 B763s at the time of the CP takeover.

The comfort plus are lease aircraft as stated above, and were deemed to be shorter term than warranting a full XM upgrade with the layflat J class Pods and full entertainment Y screens. I presume they will be among the first to go when the 787's arrive or shortly thereafter. The seats are the old J Class domestic seats so 6 across and comfortable enough but wouldn't cut it on YYZ to LHR or YVR to Asia.

Thanks for the answers so far. I'm looking at booking Vancouver - Toronto on AC later this year and was wondering ig AC had any plans to create a Y+ type product on its domestic/long haul fleet.

Fins 658-661 were actually ordered by CP originally prior to the takeover in 2000. That's why they have GEs instead of PW's and received the AC code. When AC took over CP they only had 631-636 in the fleet.

If you decide to spring for J, make sure you book it on one of the flights from Oz/Asia - YVR - YYZ and you'll get the lie flat pods.

With the exception of the couple of 763's that haven't been XM'd the complete widebody fleet has lie flat J Class. So you can have one even on the YYZ to YUL 55 minute route if you choose a widebody.

Yes, I have flown quite a few times between YYZ and YUL in a widebody with the international J product.

Actually their code is 767-36NER. Leased from GECAS. The GECAS customer code is 6N

If you are going to go LAX-YYZ then not likely as that is usually operated with an A319 or A320 and sometimes the occasional 763, however you could get on one from SAN or SNA to YYZ.

If you are planning on flying LAX-YVR then I think that has at least a couple of E190's operating that route each day.

Yes LAX-YVR. All of NZs codeshares with AC from LAX-YVR are on the E190

Where did you get this info? Everything I've read shows 658-661 and 631-636 listed as B767-333s. There are no B767s listed with the 6N code.

Where did you get this info? Everything I've read shows 658-661 and 631-636 listed as B767-333s. There are no B767s listed with the 6N code.

Not sure what aircraft you are referring to, but the 3 763s with the non-standard cabin and door layout and which did not undergo the XM conversion are the 3 767-3YOs, C-GHPD/PF/PH, shown below.
