How Is Air India Transatlantic Service!

I am about to travel from Newark to Frankfurt. My Choice is besides CO and LH which I usually take also AIR INDIA for a fantastic price on a 77W! How is AI compared to CO/LH? Is it worth saving the extra 50$ to fly AI (just to try them?). Do they sell Upgrades on the Day of Travel?

Had a friend travel with them in Y, said the seating was average but the crew and the catering were tremendous across the pond.

I had great flights with them a few years back LHR-JFK. They have agents that sell cheap J class tickets , Welcome Travel in London is their agent. Id fly them no probs and hopefully soon from DUB-ORD
