Transfer In SFO

I'll be flying to into SFO from DXB on EK next month on my way to LAX. Im booked on the 5:25 pm Southwest departure to LAX on July 15th. My EK flight is scheduled to get in at 1:45 pm.

How long does immigration and baggage usually take in SFO? Ive never been to SFO, will i get some extra scrutiny because my usual port of entry is LAX? Also, where does Southwest depart from?
