It is very difficult to decipher DL's seat maps on their website. I see that there are three different configurations and I don't know which this is. Maybe I do and I'm afraid of the result lol. After recently discovering that in seat 13A there is no window on DL's 738 (which I'm of course going to be changing hopefully), I'd like to know before-hand if seat 21A on the 757-3 is over-wing or near an engine (i.e. if I were to look out the window, would I see the cowling and fan and such..)

(Was this the right forum for this question?)

As FX772LRF said, seatguru.com is a wonderful resource to learn more about your aircraft's seat configuration. If you would give us the date you will be traveling and the flight number, we could help you a lot more. According to SeatGuru, 21A is just over the front of the wing in versions 1 and 2 of the 753; on version 3, you are just ahead of the wing, so you will have a view of the engine cowling if you are on that aircraft -- but probably not the fan; I don't think you're far enough ahead.

If I can see the whole cowling, if not the fan, then I'm cool. (*sigh* Yes, I know.. I'm high maintenance  ) I'm very much hoping to be on version 3, if I'm to be right beside the engine.

Seatguru is incorrect. Version 1 incorrectly lists the configuration as 24F/203Y and neither version 2 nor version 3 are actual 757-300 configurations at all, as they both have ~150 seats in Y, which is WAYYY too small for a 753. You'd be looking at 36in pitch or higher with a configuration that light in Y.

www.seatexpert.com is way better, not to mention correct, on showing the ONLY 757-300 configuration in the fleet:

According to the seatexpert link, 21A will still give you a view of most of, if not all of, the engine cowling. You should be ahead of the wing.

I checked online at delta.com, and the seatexpert map seems correct.

Someone should tell them about that.. I think that's why I was confused.. There really weren't that many 757-3s in the first place to have that many configs. Well, that's what my thinking was. I never went and actually looked them all up on say, www.planespotters.net and counted. Oh, btw, I've known about SeatGuru for a few years now. I just needed some extra clarification, that's all.   Oh, and thank you, Transpac787.

Perfect. At least I got one flight right...

According to the DL website, there are 20F and 204Y seats on the -300.
I think NW had 24F and 200Y.
I should remember, I've been on a few.

DL has only one seat chart for the -300 on their site.
Try row 16,17 or 18.

You should be ok

The website says 20F/200Y, which is also incorrect.

The configuration is actually 24F/200Y. Just have a look at the seat maps of any of the 753 flights, there are 6 rows in F. The configuration of the 753's have remained completely unchanged since NW - only DL blue leather seat covers have been added and that's it.

Thanks for the info and update. If the DL 757-300 seat chart is wrong, how many more DL listed seat charts are wrong?
I think we all argree that the Delta website needs an enema.

I did a quick check and didn't see any more that are wrong. But I'm not an expert on all of the 757 versions on the DL side, so maybe there's another that has slipped through the cracks, I mean canyons, in that website.

They weren't avail. But I will certainly try when I check in (online, of course).

As FX772LRF said, seatguru.com is a wonderful resource to learn more about your aircraft's seat configuration.

It also has a lot of outdated and incomplete information. It can be slow to be updated when carriers change configurations, and may not show all variations for carriers that operate multiple configurations for the same type.
