On a clear day from most major airports, it is possible to see the contrails of overflying commercial jets. While these contrails may not often be directly above the airport, they are still visible in the distant sky. Are there any major airports with so little overflying traffic that contrails would be an unusual sight? Perhaps CPT (aside from the possibility of JNB-EZE - does there exist a route that would overfly the CPT area?) ?

Well I dont know if its the weather or not that many planes flying over head but in the MIA area I dont see many contrails at all. Yet when I am in DC or other parts of the country or world I see a lot more. There probably are not that many flights flying over Miami though but it might be the weather too.

You realize the formation of contrails is dependent on weather right?
Things like temperature and humidity in the climate plays a key part if contrails are formed which is basically condensation.
