I will be flying to ANC and back from GFK in October and had a couple questions. My out-bound routing is GFK-MSP-ANC and there has been about three or four different schedule changes on my return itinerary. I have many options to choose from now that my departure times have all been thrown off.
These options are;
ANC-SEA-MSP-GFK
ANC-PDX-MSP-GFK
ANC-SLC-MSP-GFK
ANC-MSP-GFK
I have never flown through SEA or PDX nor flown on AS, so these options are appealing to me.
My question is; If I was to connect from AS to DL at either PDX or SEA would I have to clear security at either of these airports? I've checked both airlines websites and looked at maps of the airports but cannot seem to come up with the answer.

Having travelled on DL and AS and have a RT coming up to ANC both on DL and AS, I would stick with a one stop option at MSP. Keep it simple.

I'd pick PDX if you really want to try AS. It's a nicer airport, smaller and easier to navigate, and has better food options. SEA is a decent airport, but connecting between AS and DL you'd need to take at least two, if not three different trains within the terminal. Also, the South Satellite where DL is located has pretty poor food options. PDX also offers free wifi.

There are two security checkpoints at PDX, one at the south side (A, B, and C concourses) and one at the north side (D and E concourses). With the construction of the sky bridge that spans the passenger terminal connecting the east ends of the C and D concourses, it is now possible to remain within the sterile zone and walk within all five concourses without leaving security.

Except the food options is outside of security at PDX while SEA has the much better food options at street prices inside security. I would pick SEA over PDX because of that.

Well, since PDX is the closest major airport to where I live I am a bit biased, but aside from the food court and a couple of other restaurants that are outside of security, PDX has some pretty decent dining options inside security including (A Concourse): Laurelwood Brewing; (B Concourse): Caper's cafe; (C Concourse): Pizza Schmizza, Sandoval's Fresh Mexican Grill, Big Town Hero, Wendy's, Good Dog/Bad Dog, Riverfront Cafe; (D Concourse): Rogue Ales Pub, Rose's Restaurant and Bakery, Wendy's; (E Concourse): Laurelwood Brewing.

SEA also has free wifi. If you have a long layover, you will see mostly AS flights at SEA. If you're looking for something cooler, PDX has the ANG fighter squadron there, so sometimes you can see F-15s departing and arriving.

I definitely agree. Fewer connections are better. If I just had to torment myself with another deplaning and boarding, I would choose PDX over SEA any day.
