If You Were A Pilot, Which Would You Prefer?

If you were a commerical pilot, which of the following would you prefer? Please note that this is just for fun and so don't consider pay or things like that.

Would you prefer to:

1) Fly a small aircraft (a regional jet or a prop) into big airports; or
2) Fly a medium/big aircraft into small airports.

THOSE ARE THE ONLY OPTIONS!

I would certainly prefer 2), as I'd find it exciting flying, say, a 738 into small airports much more exciting than being just another plane at a big airport.

I would choose option #2 cause a couple of years ago when NW had a few of their 747-2/400 in there as well as a DC-10 and a handful of 757s and the DC-9s. That would have been fun flying into TOL in those aircraft than my little C172...heavy Laugh out loud

Option #2 of course! It has to be the biggest rush to bring in a 747 into St Marten!

This one's easy, definately #2. But then again, I'd take anything bigger than a 172 anyday.

Yep.. Option 2 for me also. Sounds more exciting, of course. I can only imagine the thrill of being behind the controls of an aluminum titanic and flying it into a facility that wasn't necessarily designed for it. Short runways, mountainous terrains, reef runways.. Plus, the attention received because its one of the biggest aircraft around..  Smile

Caution wake turbulence, you are following a heavy jet.

Definately Option #2 for me after being a passenger on a full Thai A300-600 landing at the small airport of Hat-Yai where it seemed arrestor hooks might be needed to stop the plane from overrunning! LOL  Laugh out loud

I'll let you have that, FJWH, as English isn't your first language, so I wasn't really expecting you to understand the warning: "THESE ARE THE ONLY OPTIONS." LOL. Just kidding.  Wink/being sarcastic

Option #2. Nothing like the brakes on, full power departure in a 74 or similar aircraft! Big grin

Cheers,

Jeff

For sure option 2. I love watching a/c come into SNA and BUR all the time. It looks so exciting, even though it probably isn't that much different from a larger airport. Still looks fun though.

I'll take option 2.

How about Eastern Air Lines flying a 727-100 to EYW? THat must have been a riot.

Option 2. Some of the small airports are very interesting, particularly if you're trying to get a large aircraft out of them  Big thumbs up.

Bigger the better and remember folks, if you dont need full flap, spoilers, full reverse power, and some hard braking, its just no fun!

The bigger the better so option 2. I'd fly a 744 into a small airport anyday if I had the choice.

I really like the thought of both options. I always think it would be neat to fly a UA Express Brasilia into SFO, but yet again, how about flying a 330 into RTB? Eurofly operates flights from Italy to RTB during the summer. The airport is practically on an island and all the other a/c are ATRs, Let, Otters..etc.

I think i would choose option #2 though.  Smile

I'd choose something like a BBJ just for the bizjet factor into a smaller airport. Small town people are usually very interested in bizjets and catch a lot of attention. To people who see old single piston planes all day, a 737 BBJ is going to be big to them!
