I wonder if something like the following could work out so that we would have again a 3 class intra Europe flights.
on an A320
1 or 2 rows with premium seats in a 2-2 configuration for first class.
The remaining seats would be in a 3-3 configuration but with the first half of them with extra seat pitch and the possibility to create extra width by moving the armrest towards the middle seat and a tray table (like LH has) and those will than be used in a flexible way between Business and Economy class were the middle seat remains free in Business and the remaining seats in economy could be available for an extra fee or for status passengers.
And maybe on flights were first class isn't sold they could offer their top tier members a more comfortable seat but with business class service.
on an E-jet
1 or 2 rows with a 1-1 configuration and again the remaining in a 2-2 configuration with half of them extra seat pitch and the aisle seat blocked for business class passengers with an middle armrest that would move toward the aisle seat and a table that would come out of the seat back.
Or is first class definitely over on European flights?

I also heard from a former LH flight attendant that they also used to operate a 3 class service to MAD.
The US carriers do have a Domestic First class on those aircrafts or is this only a seat an no service?
